There are people who make a school run, and then there are people who make a school whole. Mrs. Gayla Gaspard is both. For 28 years, this proud Pirate has given her heart, her energy, and her faith to Kaplan High School. Though her title reads Secretary, everyone knows she’s the heartbeat of the campus. From handling a thousand details before most of us have had our first cup of coffee, to comforting students and staff with her steady voice and Godly heart, Mrs. Gayla is the calm in every storm.
Her work reflects the Herpin Legacy, putting students first, always. She’s the one who quietly saves the day, the one who prays with you when you’re breaking, and the one who reminds us why we do what we do.
Her warmth saves lives. Her wisdom guides us. Her love sustains this ship.
She is the treasure that keeps the Pirate family afloat. 🏴☠️

There are teachers who teach content, and then there are teachers who change the culture of an entire school. Miss Angela does both. From the moment she steps into her Geometry classroom, her students light up not because the work is easy, but because they know "Miss A" believes in them.
This year, she also stepped up to lead the Pirrettes Pep Squad, bringing energy, organization, and pride that has transformed their presence on campus. Her heart for kids and her hunger to grow are unmatched. Whether she’s helping a student after class, cheering in the stands, or brainstorming ways to make our students and school stronger, Miss Angela embodies everything it means to be a Pirate: loyal, bold, and unstoppable.
Congratulations, Miss Sistruck. You make Kaplan High better every single day. 🏴☠️

Then the Kaplan High School Performing Arts camp is the perfect place for them to shine!
Our camp offers students a chance to explore theatre arts in a fun, supportive, and creative environment.
Whether you’re a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage, you’ll build confidence, teamwork, and imagination through exciting activities like:
🎭 Acting and Improv Games
🎤 Voice and Singing
Choreography
By the end of camp, students will have developed new skills, friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the art of storytelling — both on and off the stage!

Join us this month in thanking Coach Shay for the countless ways he leads, serves, and inspires our Pirate family. We are proud to call him our principal. ☠️

Every single one of them has set bold goals for proficiency and beyond, determined to raise the bar for our students. Their passion, their focus, and their commitment to “upping their game” is what makes Kaplan High unstoppable.
This isn’t just about test scores—it’s about believing in our kids, pushing them to new heights, and showing them that the sky isn’t the limit… It’s just the beginning.
We are proud of our teachers, inspired by their drive, and confident that together, we will keep climbing, keep striving, and keep winning for our students.
