This holy day serves as a powerful reminder of love, sacrifice, and the beauty of new beginnings. As we look around our campus and community, we are surrounded by that same spirit in the kindness of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of our Pirate family.
We are grateful for each moment of growth, each act of compassion, and each opportunity to come together as one. May this Easter fill your hearts with peace, your homes with joy, and your lives with continued blessings.
From all of us at Kaplan High School, Happy Easter, Pirate Nation! 🏴☠️

Ms. Alyson Bourque, you are so much more than our librarian. You are strength, resilience, and quiet determination in motion. Through every challenge we face as a Pirate family, you continue to show up with integrity, an open heart, wisdom beyond your years, and a willingness to do whatever needs to be done. (for ANYONE). That says everything about who you are. You come from a family of true caretakers, and you carry that torch so respectfully. Our students are so lucky to have you in their corner.
We are incredibly grateful that you are part of our Pirate family. Our school is better because of you, and we are better because we get to stand beside you.
Just as you have always been a steady presence for others, please know we are here for you, too. When you are on that campus, the sky is simply opalite. Keep dancing with us for many years to come.⚡⚡

On March 31st, the KHS baseball field paused the game and the scoreboard to honor something far greater than wins and losses; we honored a journey.
Senior Night is never just about a final home game. It is about years of long practices, bus rides, dirt-stained uniforms, and the quiet moments in between that most people never see. It is about the friendships built in the dugout, the lessons learned through adversity, and the pride of wearing “Pirates” across your chest.
We celebrate three young senior men who have given so much to this program: Sabe David, Aiden Gaspard, and Luke Hebert. Each of them has left a mark on this field that will not fade with the final out. Their leadership, toughness, and commitment have helped shape not only this team but the standard that will be carried forward.
Behind every pitch, every swing, and every victory stands a powerful support system. Families who showed up to every game, coaches who poured their time and belief into these players, teammates who became brothers, and a community that never stopped cheering them on. That is what makes Kaplan special. That is what makes Pirate Nation strong.
These seniors may be stepping off this field, but they will never step away from what it means to be a Pirate.
Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate 🏴☠️

Isabel Mendez
Eva Benoit Smith
Kaylee Gallet
Emily Vidalier
Lanie Vincent
These incredible young women have been selected to attend Girls State, a prestigious leadership program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary that brings together top students from across the state to build a fully functioning mock government. During this experience, they will campaign, vote, debate, and lead, gaining a deep understanding of how our government works while developing confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.
This is more than just a summer program. This is history in the making. This is where future leaders find their voice, sharpen their vision, and begin making an impact that reaches far beyond high school.
Being selected for Girls State is a LIFE-CHANGING honor, and each of these students represents the very best of Kaplan High School. Their drive, intelligence, and leadership have set them apart, and we cannot wait to see how they rise to the challenge.
Kaplan High School continues to produce leaders who are not just prepared for the future but ready to shape it.
Once again, congratulations to these exceptional young women. The future is bright, and the Pirate Nation is behind you every step of the way. 🏴☠️

This weekend, the Kaplan High School Speech Team competed at the Louisiana High School Speech League State Tournament held at Southside High School, and our Pirates brought home some incredible honors!

Also earning a big win for Kaplan, Brody Smith placed 2nd in Novice Poetry.
Congratulations to these talented students for representing KHS among the best in the state of Louisiana!

Kaplan High Track & Field is absolutely showing what it means to be UNSTOPPABLE.

Selena Alexandria soared to 2nd in the Triple Jump
Gabrielle Braus earned 3rd in High Jump
Our relay teams were on another level:

Riley Duhon, Emily Roy, Kadey Duhon, Lexi Greene
Lexi Greene powered her way to 2nd in the 400
Liberty Greene secured 2nd in the 800
Emily Roy placed 3rd in the 200
And then… they made history.
4x400 Champions
NEW SCHOOL RECORD: 4:11.1
Isabel Mendez, Emily Roy, Liberty Greene, Lexi Greene
That’s not just a win, that’s a statement. The girls came out 2nd overall in the tournament!
Boys Results:
Kodi Clement battled his way to 3rd in the 200 and 2nd in the 400
Kevin Small dominated the field with a 1st place finish in the discus
This is what it looks like when preparation meets pride. This is what happens when athletes compete for something bigger than themselves.
We’re not slowing down. We’re not backing off.
We’re building something special in Pirateland, and right now… It’s UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴☠️
