Exciting News! Mr. Jonah Slason, our amazing Choir Director, was named Vermilion Parish High School Teacher of the Year!
Passionate about music education, Mr. Slason fosters growth and creativity in every student. His choirs have graced universities, Veterans Day programs, and community events, earning accolades along the way. Recognized by the Louisiana Music Educators Association as "Outstanding Young Music Educator," he's been a Guest Clinician for choirs across Louisiana. Further, over the past decade, more than 120 of his students have made the Louisiana All State Choir!
Beyond the NVHS, Jonah is a Christian Youth Theatre Music Director, teaches music classes, and runs a private voice studio.
